Nadat we jarenlang vooral matige televisieseries en films kregen rondom games worden we de laatste tijd flink verwend. Denk alleen maar eens aan de verfilming van Super Mario Bros. en de televisieserie rondom The Last of Us. Volgens acteur Jack Black is er nog een naam die hieraan toegevoegd mag worden.
In gesprek met de BBC brengt Jack Black de naam Red Dead Redemption naar voren. Hoewel de acteur enthousiast is over The Last of Us denkt hij dat Red Dead Redemption een nog beter verhaal heeft om over te zetten naar het witte doek.

It's basically all from the game with just a couple of tweaks. It's going to win all the awards. They used the video game almost like a storyboard and I was like, 'Whoa, this looks just the same.' And there are some great games that have yet to be explored in television or film. Maybe there's going to be a Red Dead Redemption movie? There should be, because I think that has just as good or even better story than The Last of Us."
Voorlopig is er nog genoeg om naar uit te kijken als het gaat om aankomende projecten, denk alleen maar eens aan verfilmingen en televisieseries van BioShock, Gran Turismo, Borderlands, Fallout, God of War en Horizon Zero Dawn. Volgens Jack Black mogen we hier in de komende jaren nog vele namen aan toevoegen, hij ziet een markt die exponentieel blijft groeien.
